Icing plates
Depending on the choice of manufacturing sequence, the milling step can be carried out either on the GF-150-M freezer plate or on the GFF-20-IOL freezer support (piece by piece).
The use of GFR-20-IOL freezer plate for turning perfectly rounded discs is no longer necessary, as a collet is no longer required. This means that thinner discs can be used, saving on material thanks to the use of a special tool. deep core freeze and a easy repositioning for the next stage.
The GFR-20-IOL freezing mandrels are interchangeable to adapt to the different stages of manufacture. In general, the mandrel used for the first side is flat to match the surface of the raw disc, while the mandrels for the second side are machined with a mirror imprint of the lens profile.
Thanks to a optional external centring deviceThis means that the machined discs can be easily positioned. As the original "dead length" clamp is used under the freezing device, the transition to "classic" production remains simple.

Thanks to this natural property AMCC freezer plates (Icing Plates) use it as a clamping system, offering a number of advantages:

The AMCC GF plates are cooled by a double-flow heat exchanger(¹), requiring only compressed air(²) to operate.
The freezer plates are easy to use for manufacturing IOLs (intraocular lenses): simply spray water on the blanks, position the blank on the cooling mandrel; in a few seconds, the water freezes and machining can begin. Unblocking is even simpler by reversing the air flow from cooling to defrosting.
Originally developed for use in aerospace workshops, these freezer plates have been adopted in sectors manufacturing precision parts, and more specifically in the intraocular lens industry.
